SIPS Coffee Truck: Brewing Community

SIPS Coffee Truck helps make the MOV a colorful community!

It’s only been one year since we first introduced SIPS Coffee Truck in our email newsletter, welcoming owners Jen and Eric Allman to the MOV coffee scene. We knew SIPS was brewing something special, but we had no idea just how much of an impact Clementine would make on this community.

For us – and we know for many of you, too – SIPS is much more than a coffee truck. Jen has built a business where the product, while amazing, comes in second to the community she’s fostered. SIPS takes its tagline “Brewing Community” very seriously and it’s that spirit of connection and collaboration that caught our attention last summer. We are endlessly inspired not only by the ever-evolving menu of creative drinks, but the way in which Jen supports our creative community, uplifts local artists, gives back, and makes space for neighborliness. It’s the friendly faces you see walking up to the truck, the goofy reels, the fun events, and the fact that right now, we all know Jen is tearing up reading this, that has created a special place in our hearts for SIPS. So in celebration of their first anniversary, we asked Jen to talk with us about what SIPS has accomplished and what they have brewing up next!

What has SIPS accomplished over the last year? What are you most proud of?

Over the past year, SIPS has taken significant strides in giving back to our community. One of our standout achievements has been the creation of four unique fundraiser drinks. Through these special beverages, we were able to raise and donate funds to organizations that hold a special place in our community's heart. It has been an incredible experience to see our customers actively participating in this initiative, making it possible for us to contribute meaningfully to causes that matter.

In an effort to support local talent and foster community spirit, we launched the Simply Kin Market. This makers market is entirely free for both participants and visitors. It showcases the work of local artists, offering them a platform to share their creations with the community. What began as an impromptu idea during conversations with our customers has blossomed into a vibrant event that celebrates creativity and togetherness. The organic growth of Simply Kin Market is a testament to the collaborative spirit at SIPS.

What truly stands out as our proudest achievement is the lasting bonds we've formed with our community. Seeing familiar faces, hearing your stories, and feeling the support and love from each one of you has made this year unforgettable. These relationships are the heart and soul of SIPS, and they inspire me to keep growing and evolving.

How would you measure the first year of SIPS?

While I haven't kept a strict count, here's a little peek into our incredible year:

  • Happy Tears Shed: If I had to guess, I've probably broken the record for the most happy tears shed in a single year!

  • Collaborations: What's truly special is that every collaboration we've been a part of this year has sprouted from a friendship we've formed.

  • Drinks Served: While the exact number is a mystery, let's just say we've served countless cups of joy and comfort!

What had you imagined for your first year?

A year ago, I'd hoped to be able to work the truck full-time and leave travel assignments behind me for good. I thought this June would be when I could do that.

Fast forward to today, and wow, never did I think we'd be where we are now! Every day, I wake up grateful that I am getting to live this dream. Honestly, I couldn't have imagined the amazing support from our community, the fun (and sometimes crazy) events we get to be a part of, and the joy of serving up delicious drinks to so many awesome people.

The road hasn't always been smooth, but every bump has been worth it. And the best part? This is just the beginning!

What is your favorite part of the SIPS adventure?

Hands down, it's the community! The interactions we share with all of you are what make it truly special. There's nothing better than meeting new friends, sharing stories, and creating memories together. It's not just about the places we go or the drinks you enjoy - it's about connecting with amazing people.

Every day is packed with laughter, surprises, and moments that bring us closer. Whether we're discovering something new or just enjoying a chill moment, the sense of community is what makes SIPS so unique.

What are you excited about for the future?

I'm so inspired by this community and have so many ideas and goals for the coming year. What I'm most excited about is opening SIPS Coffee Co. at 600 Ann St. in Parkersburg!

Keep an eye out for more updates as we get closer to opening. And, of course, we'll be sharing sneak peeks, special offers, and maybe even some events that you can be involved in.

What does “Brewing Community” mean to you?

To me, it means creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and connected.

Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, we want SIPS to give you a genuine sense of belonging. That's the community we are striving to create.

Thank you all so much for being part of our first year! Your presence and support have helped shape SIPS into the warm, inviting community I envisioned. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Be sure to find Clementine this week to wish SIPS a Happy Birthday! You can follow SIPS Coffee Truck on Facebook and Instagram.
